For example, students at the University of Victoria visit Butchart Gardens, and students at La Cité universitaire francophone, Université de Regina, go on a boat cruise to Percé. Participants at Université Saint-Boniface spend a day exploring a corner of Manitoba, while students at La Cité collégiale get an authentic sugar-shack experience. Students at École d’immersion française, Université Western, Cégep Rivière-du-Loup, Université Laval, and Université Sainte-Anne go whale watching, while students at Glendon College go to a Toronto Blue Jays...

Some of the participants’ favourite activities are centred around visits to museums and learning centres. For example, students at Université Saint-Boniface visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Those at the University of Saskatchewan take a tour of the Canadian Light Source facility, as well as the U. of S. Observatory and the Diefenbaker Canada Centre. Collège Boréal organizes an outing to Science North, while La Cité collégiale organizes trips to Parliament and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as weekly visits to some of Canada’s top museums.

Some of the participants’ favourite activities are centred around music, culture, celebrations, banquets, and themed weeks. For example, participants at Université Laval form friendships at an evening banquet, while students at Collège Boréal celebrate “La fête de la Saint-Jean” and attend a First Nation powwow. There is a two-week-long music festival at Centre linguistique du Collège de Jonquière, and a week of themed activities around Indigenous culture at École de français, Cégep de Trois-Rivières. Nine ways that Explore changed my life

1.    Living on my own
I expected to attend classes, workshops, and activities and improve my French. However, I did not expect to do my own laundry, cook, empty my own trash, clean my own apartment, and go grocery shopping! It was my first time away from home, and although I missed home at first, I really enjoyed the freedom and living like a grown-up!
