Where Are They Now?

I just graduated and this is the first time I am teaching with Explore. I took part in Explore as a student five or six years ago when I was in grade 11.

At that time, I was eager to learn about French culture and one teacher recommended this program, so I went on the Internet and I chose to Explore. I went to Jonquière. It was a really, really great experience. When I went to the grocery store, I had to speak French — I could not say "apple", I had to say "pomme"; it was my first experience being totally immersed. After two weeks, you start speaking. When I came back home, French came first.

Explore is a very effective program. I was in French Immersion at school, but Explore was my first experience of total immersion. This first university/college experience gave me a better idea of what to expect in university life.

Explore was a foundation that gave me direction in life. It gave me the confidence to pursue my goal, which is to open a school in Nigeria, hopefully in a few years.

Explore is a great way to become more fluent in another language, and a great opportunity to meet other students.
