Before I joined Explore at La Maison Française in Victoria, I had never really spent that much time away from home. My first choice had been Montreal, so I was kind of disappointed at first to be going to my second choice instead. Am I ever glad it happened that way! The program was small enough that I was able to build really great relationships with both the participants and our monitors.

Five months later, I still talk to many of the people I met there on a regular basis. Although we only spent time with each other for over a month, I feel like I’ve known them forever. Some of us are planning to get together again next summer somewhere else — we are all far apart but hope to meet somewhere in the middle.

Thank you so much for giving me this amazing experience! I will never forget my time at LMF!
